Using PRINCE2 & PMI’s PMBOK for Success
Course Objective
This two-day training event, offered in association with AFA Projects,
is designed to show the links and the differences between PRINCE2 and
the PMI’s PMBOK, which is fast becoming the global standard. This
training event will focus on the differences between and similarities
of the two and describe how each can complement the other.
What is the PMBOK®?
The PMBOK® Guide is a project management standard developed by the
nonprofit Project Management Institute (PMI). In 1987, PMI published the
first PMBOK® in an attempt to document and standardise generally accepted
project management information and practices. The PMBOK is an internationally
recognised standard that provides the fundamentals of project management
that are applicable to a wide range of projects, including construction,
software, engineering, automotive, etc.
PMBOK recognises 5 basic process groups and 9 knowledge areas typical
of almost all projects. The basic concepts are applicable to projects,
programmes and operations.
